摘要: To solve problems of stiffness EVOH in film preparation, new formulations are investigated. First, dipentaerythritol (DPE) is blended with EVOH: it acts as plasticizer, decreases the crystallization temperature and allows preparation articles featuring enhanced flexibility stretchability. However, beyond a certain loading (above 10 wt %) DPE can crystallize segregate during cooling, causing further processability due to material embrittlement. Then, small amount montmorillonite (MMT) mixed EVOH/DPE system: results that for specific compositions MMT inhibits crystallization. At same time, DPE, thanks its high polarity affinity both clay polymeric matrix, improves intercalation nanoclays, promoting penetration polymer chains within layers clay. The synergistic effects matrix confirmed by DSC, WAXD, SAXS TEM analyses. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2015, 132, 42265.
