摘要: There is a well-worn cliche suggesting Britain nation of shopkeepers. If this the case, then vitality and viability High Street surely provide litmus test health nation. Standing at metaphorical heart, but also accessible centre, our towns cities, has long been idealized as focus community life, lively shopping street that makes urban life worst, bearable and, best, immensely pleasurable. The key function course, marketplace where goods services are bought sold, site consumers can browse before deciding to purchase. But about more than merely shopping: it space we routinely go meet friends, have drink, post letters, hair cut, visit library, collect prescriptions, perhaps take in movie or some theatre; which stroll, saunter just hang out.
