摘要: A model for a heterogeneous graft polymerization of vinyl andlor acrylic monomers on polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) initiated by cent ions is developed. The can be easily extended to other (poly)hydroxylic substrates . Graft copolymerizationof acrylonitrile (AN) onto PVA was carried out using eerie ammonium nitrate (CAN) as an initiator in aqueous nitric acid medium under N2 atmosphere. optimum conditions grafting were determined studying the effects concentrations initiator, monomer, and percentage copolymer characterized FTIR spectroscopoy yield increases with increasing monomer concentration up 1.728 M, further increases, decreases. yieldincreaseswith 1.31x10-2 M 12 g/L thereafter it decreases pH medium, reaction time, temperature have also been investigated kinetics solution studied bromornetry titration following rate expression: Rpak ' 06 0.62 (PVA)0m observed suitable mechanism suggested overall activation energy copolymerization found 42 .51 kJlmol within range 25—45 'C.
