摘要: Approximately 10% of bacterial genomes are split between two or more large DNA fragments, a genome architecture referred to as multipartite genome. This organization is found in many important organisms, including plant symbionts, such the nitrogen-fixing rhizobia, and plant, animal, human pathogens, genera Brucella, Vibrio, Burkholderia. The availability complete sequences means that we can now examine on broad scale characteristics different types molecules Recent work has begun shed light unique properties each class replicon, functional role chromosomal nonchromosomal molecules, how exploitation novel niches may have driven evolution aims this review (i) outline literature regarding divided into multiple (ii) provide meta-analysis completed from 1,708 species way reviewing abundant information present these sequences, (iii) an encompassing model explain function structure. covers, among other topics, salient terminology; mechanisms formation; phylogenetic distribution genomes; part differs with respect genomic signatures, genetic variability, gene annotation; molecule interact; well costs benefits
