摘要: Pianists seem prone to Playing-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (PRMDs), however little piano-specific epidemiological research into such disorders has been undertaken. This study aimed establish the prevalence of PRMDs in a sample elite (conservatory) pianists, identify associated risk factors and gather information regarding PRMD symptom distribution. A survey pianists enrolled at large Australian university keyboard conservatory was Survey items were developed from qualitative that validated definition for identified relevant perceived factors. Univariate multivariate statistical techniques used. Sixty-eight percent reported experiencing symptoms interfered with their piano playing week prior completing survey. Statistically significant following high levels stress self-reported increased muscle tension when piano. participants reporting both had an 84% chance having PRMD. Anatomical areas most frequently affected by posterior neck, shoulders upper middle back. Knowledge these factors, anatomical PRMDs, can aid teachers recognition management consultation appropriate health professionals.
