摘要: Abstract The rapid expansion of student numbers, staff and support infrastructures in higher education institutions often result increased demand for resources such as energy paper. Promoting pro-environmental behaviour is critical if are to achieve sustainable resource use. Using surveys, reported use recycling students the Faculty Education at Rhodes University, South Africa was explored. results showed that self-reported mediated by demographic factors personal values ‘liking aesthetic beauty biodiversity’, ‘social relations’, ‘a varied life’ ‘freedom’. Personal values, though key shaping participants' attitudes toward environment did not always translate into behaviour. Situational beyond control participants were cited barriers actions.
