摘要: A series of taxonomic questions at the subfamilial, generic, and intrageneric levels have remained within subfamily Chlorogaloideae s.s. (comprising Camassia, Chlorogalum, Hastingsia, Schoenolirion) relatives in Agavaceae. We present first phylogenetic hypotheses focused on that are based multiple independent loci include a wide sampling outgroups across In addition to chloroplast regions ndhF trnL–trnF, we used nrDNA ITS for inference. Incomplete concerted evolution latter is indicated by intra-individual site polymorphisms nearly half individuals. Comparisons four coding analysis methods these characters indicate region remains phylogenetically informative. Our results confirm not monophyletic, due close relationship Schoenolirion with Hesperaloe Hesperoyucca, as well likely sister between Hesperocallis core (Camassia, Hastingsia). Chlorogalum also being divided strong support into vespertine diurnal clades. This study produced Hesperaloe, allowing initial tests several disagreements this genus. reveal lack cohesion H. funifera, indicating funifera ssp. may be more closely related campanulata than chiangii (=H. chiangii). With potential gene flow many members possible hybrid origin campanulata, genetic relationships genus appear complex. Further population-level investigation taxa s.l. would benefit our understanding taxonomy groups; Camassia Hastingsia current focus ongoing study.
