摘要: 1. Political commitment and policy instruments to halt biodiversity loss require robust data a diverse indicator set monitor report on trends. Gaps in availability narrow-based sets are significant information barriers fulfilling these needs. 2. In this paper, the reporting requirements of seven global or European were reviewed using list Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs) as an analytical framework. The for most comprehensive instrument, United Nation's Strategic Plan 2011-2020, compared with actually used its reporting, identify current gaps. To explore extent which identified gaps could be bridged, potential contribution mobilization, modelling further processing existing was assessed. 3. demonstrate that decision-makers arc currently constrained by lack indicators changes EBV classes Genetic Composition and, lesser extent, Species Populations is often available. Furthermore, results show even when there requirement specific may not able provide all information, example Convention Biological Diversity relatively little Ecosystem Function Structure classes. This gap partly closed proxies, whereas additional computed based available (e.g. EBVs class). However, class Composition, no immediate improvement proxies seems possible. 4. Synthesis applications. Using tool, theory driven comparisons made between sets. Analytical properties, such identification (s) relevant per EBV, will need addressed before can become operational facilitate integration flows monitoring reporting. meantime, first analysis shows offer considerable bridging
