摘要: Abstract Background The expression profile of immunohistochemical markers origin in poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (PDNEC) is not well studied. Materials and methods Seventy-four PDNECs from gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) organs the lung, including 48 large cell NEC (LCNEC) 26 small carcinomas (SmCC), were subject to staining for CDX2, TTF1 ISL1. intensity (1 3) percentage positive tumor cells [0 (negative), 1 ( Results In 38 GEP 36 lung PDNECs, ISL1 was observed 71% (aTS 2.8), 16% 0.4), 63% 1.9), 22% 0.6), 72% 2.9) 92% 3.8), respectively. showed a higher aTS CDX2 lower ISL1, compared that (Student's t-test, p  Conclusions demonstrate potential utility suggesting primary site PDNEC. addition, may be useful supporting diagnosis LCNEC cases with overlapping or borderline morphology. Utility as an adjunctive diagnostic marker SmCC remains
