Motivation of Parent Involvement in Secondary-Level Schooling

摘要: Inspired by K. V. Hoover-Dempsey and H. M. Sandler's (1995, 1997) model of the parent involvement process, authors examined 4 psychological constructs involvement: (a) relative strength parents' role construction, (b) self-efficacy for helping adolescents succeed in school, (c) perceptions teacher invitations to become involved, (d) students' involved. The obtained survey responses from 770 parents 5 Quebec secondary schools—354 7th graders, 231 8th 185 9th graders. Results emphasize that it is important researchers distinguish at home school when examining predictive power constructs. Findings also provide evidence grade-level differences models school.
