摘要: Improving maternal, newborn, and child health is central to Sustainable Development Goal targets for 2030, requiring acceleration especially prevent 5.6 million deaths around the time of birth. Infections contribute this burden, but etiological data are limited. Group B Streptococcus (GBS) an important perinatal pathogen, although previously focus has been primarily on liveborn children, early-onset disease. In first 11-article supplement, we discuss following: (1) Why estimate worldwide burden GBS disease? (2) What outcomes in pregnancy should be included? (3) epidemiological parameters required? (4) methods models can used transparently GBS? (5) challenges with available data? (6) How estimates address gaps better inform interventions including maternal immunization? We review all worldwide, colonization, risk neonatal disease (with/without intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis), disease, neonatal/infant subsequent impairment, plus GBS-associated stillbirth, preterm birth, encephalopathy. summarize our searches, meta-analyses, modeling a compartmental model. Our approach consistent World Health Organization (WHO) Guidelines Accurate Transparent Estimates Reporting (GATHER), published The Lancet Public Library Science (PLoS). aim priority highlighted by WHO potential vaccination.
