摘要: The toxicity of methanol, atrazine, and copper to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (Korshikov) Hindak historically referred as Selenastrum capricornutum Printz were determined following 96 hrs growth in a modified Goram's media. Methanol atrazine inhibited fluorescence readings the cultures by 50% (IC50) at concentrations 2% 82 µg/l respectively. These values compared favorably other published reports. IC50 for was 160 which is substantially higher than reported values. This understandable because high chelating capacity use stereologically derived relative volume chloroplasts, mitochondria, lipid bodies, phosphate nucleus investigated determine if it could be used sensitive endpoint tests. fractions chloroplasts mitochondria normally distributed control cells while nuclei, bodies not. most dominate organelle occupying mean 46% occupied 3%. median 7% rare section profile no meaningful calculated. Up 82nd percentile sectioned profiles contained recognizable bodies. not No significant differences detected or any treatment. Limited only that appear biologically occurred methanol treated where an increase bodies' apparently concentration dependent. Significant do significant.
