摘要: Our previous studies showed that treating castrated, testosterone-treated male cynomolgus monkeys with Depo-Provera (medroxyprogesterone acetate, MPA) decreased ejaculatory performance and also measures of sexual motivation by about 40%. Similarly, males the nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor, Fadrozole, again These behavioral decrements are, course, mediated totally different mechanisms. We have therefore hypothesized both unchanged T E2 might be important for control behavior in this primate, present study examined consequences administering Fadrozole at a dose 0.25 mg/kg/day to intact being treated 40 mg/week MPA. Intact were each tested an ovariectomized, E2-treated female partner (i) before treatment, (ii) during treatment MPA alone, (iii) either or water administered SC osmotic minipumps. As studies, significantly plasma levels behavior. But additional resulted rapid increase although causing further decline Results supported view its aromatized product are activity primate. Fadrozole's effect on may been due elimination negative feedback hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
