摘要: Introduction: Bibliometric analysis demonstrates that the virology research in Latin America has increased. For this reason, objective of study was to evaluate Colombian publications on viruses and viral diseases indexed journals during period from 2000 2013. Methodology: The bibliographic data were collected MedLine, SciELO, LILACS Scopus databases. database constructed Excel descriptive statistics. SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) evaluated using & Country 2013 used as an indicator quality by researchers. Results: total number papers published 711, which 40.4% local journals, 59.6% foreign journals. Most (89.2%) original papers. Moreover, 34.2% collaboration with international researchers, United States being most represented. Of used, 85.6% had SJR, 14.4% did not. median SJR 0.789, collaborators higher compared without collaboration. Papers frequently whose categories medicine (miscellaneous), virology, infectious diseases. appeared more HIV, dengue, papillomavirus. Conclusions: This provides for use research, health planning, policy it relates Colombia other developing American countries.
