摘要: Abstract Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element for human health and plays important role in fundamental physiological functions. Se accumulates sesame seeds this situation may differ between genotypes. Determination of content food very because there a narrow margin safety adequate amount overconsumption. The purpose study was to evaluate the variability among different accessions from Turkey (12 accessions) 22 other countries four continents (Asia, Africa, Europe America). determination total seed performed with atomic absorption spectrometer. samples exhibited wide range i.e. 0–9.32 mg kg−1, average value about 2.29 kg−1. accession India 1 had highest concentration. mean contents 23 varied 0.24–8.31 kg−1 Sesame breeders can use results present further breeding programs development new biofortified varieties.
