摘要: OBJECTIVE Little data exist describing the change over time in islet function and glycemic control patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP). METHODS In 325 CP who underwent 2 mixed meal tolerance tests and/or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels, we estimated rate of metabolic measures per 6 months assessed association between potential risk factors for diabetes using multivariate regression models. RESULTS Per 6-month time, HbA1c increased by 0.062% a standard error 0.029% (P = 0.037) ratio (area under curve (AUC) C-peptide to AUC glucose from testing) decreased 0.0028 0.0011 0.014). We observed more rapid decline smokers (AUC C-peptide, P 0.043) surgical drainage glucose, 0.001; ratio, 0.03) or calcific (HbA1c, 0.003). models, declined at greater those pancreatic calcifications (both < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS measurable β-cell CP. Patients history tobacco smoking, drainage, calcification may be highest risk.
