摘要: The visuomotor medial posterior parietal area V6A has been recently subdivided into two cytoarchitectonic sectors called V6Ad and V6Av (Luppino et al., 2005). aim of the present study was to recognize whether these cortical show different functional profiles. Fourteen hemispheres from eight animals (Macaca fascicularis) were included in this study, for a total 3828 extracellularly recorded neurons assigned areas or on cytoarchitectural basis. sensitivity sensory- motor-related activities checked with series tests performed behaving animals. We found that cells sensitive visual stimuli more represented somatosensory V6Ad. Visual directly encoding spatial locations (real-position cells) only V6Av. Cells basic somatic properties as well aspects reaching grasping both V6A, although incidence. had reach-related activity enhanced by feedback activated whole-hand prehension concentrated Conversely, inhibited precision grip Although partly profiles, our data support idea is single involved control reach-to-grasp movements, dorsal sector (V6Ad) somatomotor ventral (V6Av) actions.
