摘要: Area V6A is a visuomotor area of the dorsomedial visual stream that contains cells modulated by object observation and grip formation. As different objects have shapes but also evoke grips, response selectivity during presentation could reflect either coding geometry or affordances. To clarify this point, we here investigate neural responses when monkeys observed two with similar features contextual information, such as evoked type. We demonstrate many respond to about 30% them affordance. Given an early stage in processes underlying grasping, these data suggest may participate computation These results add some elements recent literature role dorsal areas representation contribute elucidating correlates extraction action-relevant information from general properties, agreement neuroimaging studies on humans showing vision graspable activates action steam.
