摘要: Purpose – The authors aim to investigate what influences a Farm Credit System association make patronage refund payment. In particular, they seek causes the regional heterogeneity in payment decision. It is unclear whether refunds have been used more as capital management tool or member recruitment and retention tool. This study aims bring some clarity this issue.Design/methodology/approach use an empirical logistic model estimate probability of positive by association, controlling for variables related associations' balance sheet reported quarterly call reports.Findings find there evidence that Service associations tool, at least part.
