摘要: Explosive growth in the fields of molecular biology—particularly integrated genomics, proteomics, and informatics (collectively known as systems biology)— is transforming our understanding disease at level, will begin general medical practice within coming decade into a medicine that personalized, predictive, preventative, participatory (i.e., “P4” medicine). This emerging picture already driving development new classes drugs are targeted specific errors trigger transformation from health to disease. As rule, these effective only on patient subpopulations. limitation integration therapeutics with vivo vitro diagnostics, which can be used for prescreening patients and/or monitoring therapeutic responses. This, turn, (molecular imaging) diagnostic technologies, oncology turning proving ground many concepts.
