摘要: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are used to manufacture materials with new properties and functions. However, little is known about their toxic or beneficial effects on human health, especially in the respiratory system, where its smooth muscle (ASM) regulates airway contractility by different mediators, such as acetylcholine (ACh) nitric oxide (NO). The aim of this study was evaluate AgNPs ASM cells. Exposure induced ACh-independent expression inducible synthase (iNOS) at 100 μg/mL, associated excessive production NO. muscarinic receptor activation, since blockage atropine downstream signaling pathway inhibited NO production. 10 μg/mL prolonged cytotoxicity decreased cellular proliferation mediated receptor-iNOS pathway. concentration receptor-independent apoptosis, suggesting activation multiple pathways. These data indicate that induce cytotoxic anti-proliferative cells, an Further investigation required understand full mechanisms action under specific biological conditions.
