摘要: Ecosystem services are the benefits that humans derive from ecosystems, such as food provisioning, water regulating and soil productivity, use of natural areas for recreation. The current challenge is to mainstream ecosystem into policies practices in order ensure continuous provision these humans. European Union has adopted an EU Biodiversity Strategy 2020 which target safeguarding explicitly included. One crucial step account spatial quantification service supply. To this end, development robust indicators needed. In report we give overview information used mapping modelling according scientific literature evaluate potential contribution JRC supporting initiatives at global, continental, national level. We found a large diversity different services. most common based on data related land use/cover, soils, vegetation, nutrients. Most available outside extent low resolution. holds 82% types map could support Member States other involved by directly providing information.
