摘要: Studies that model the effects of land use on commuting generally a trip-based approach or more aggregated individual-based approach: i.e. is conceptualized in terms modal choice, distance and time per single trip, daily time. However, people try to schedule activities pattern and, thus, consider tours instead trips. Data from 2000 2001 Travel Behaviour Survey Ghent (Belgium) illustrate car times significantly differ between trips within work-only complex tours. Therefore, this paper considers trip-related decisions simultaneously with tour-related decisions. A multiple group structural equation (SEM) confirmed relationship differs Trips should be considered order correctly understand effect scenarios such as densifying commuting. Moreover, SEM enabled us address issue nature Due interactions various explanatory variables, patterns do not always have presumed Land policy can successfully influence commuting, but only if it accounts for availability, use,
