摘要: Pacing behaviour is complex and identifying the motivational basis for pacing designing an effective remedial strategy can be challenging. Details of may provide insight into should carefully examined. A long-term observational study by a female Malayan sun bear ( Helarctos malayanus ) was conducted to gather detailed information on guide husbandry changes. Full-day observations were (n=60; mean duration=5.9 hrs/observation). data recorded using continuous sampling methodology with all-occurrences recording events before after bouts. Solitary social interaction between focal male exhibit partner instantaneous methodologies, respectively. All bouts occurred tunnels off-exhibit indoor holding areas, short in duration variable, often began entered shift tunnel. Social interactions two females frequently agonistic. Based these findings, non-focal removed from group given access areas most days. The only paced once when provided holding. When bears did not have access, characteristics appeared similar modifications but no longer appear influenced male’s behaviour. Our analysis regarding motivation, need changes, evaluation those changes.
