摘要: In the pituitary, GABA regulates release of several hormones via different receptors. GABAC receptors are heterooligomers that differ from GABAA in they containρ -subunits and insensitive to bicuculline. However, molecular functional evidence for presence outside retina has yet be established. The present work was performed on guinea pig rat pituitaries. Both Northern blot RT-PCR analysis showed that, although ρ1- ρ2-subunits were expressed at similar levels retina, ρ1 messenger RNA (mRNA) enriched, relative ρ2 mRNA pituitary. experiments also andρ 2 mRNAs shorter size than those retina. use a subunit-specific antibody revealed colocalization ofρ 1-subunit anti-TSH labeling pituitary sections.
