摘要: Pyrochlore and betafite were investigated from several types of Canadian occurrences. Nine new analyses for 20 constituents 11 8 are presented. A general formula 16 -xB (O,OH) 48 (F,OH) is proposed the pyrochlore-betafite series with x representing vacant sites in unit cell. Differential thermal thermogravimetric curves indicate 2 states water. Betafite thorian pyrochlore metamict, but recrystallization can begin well below exothermic reaction indicated on D.T.A. curves. The cell edge ignited minerals tends to decrease as Ti Fe increase. Molecular weights derived density-cell data correspond qualitatively those calculated analyses. Observed X-ray intensities agree values, role uncertain. Frequency diagrams suggest a natural division at 15% U.
