摘要: This paper reviews 70 estimates of the price elasticity demand for many different transport modes and market situations. The presents figures separately passenger freight include both own-price mode choice elasticities. It also some on gasoline, together with selected cross-price In addition, it includes a brief exposition concepts - compensated, uncompensated, price, discusses relations between them. shows that, since transportation is derived demand, tends to be inelastic. Although review confined elasticities, notes that quality variables are often more important than particularly in air, motor freight, container markets. Finally, most relate developed countries, reflecting availabilty data, research resources, domicile researchers. nevertheless thought relevant developing countries as well. But intermodal competition generally less intense this make inelastic, although lower income levels such may partly offset effect.
