摘要: Many of the basic problems connected with formation and loss ionization in D-region ionosphere remain unanswered as yet, despite many years intensive study. Until quite recently, there was little information on even such a quantity electron density profile normal undisturbed mid-latitude D-region, but marked improvements have been made techniques, both rocket-borne ground-based, for measuring these profiles, fairly large number apparently reliable profiles published variety locations, seasons, local times, solar zenith angles. Unfortunately, key to understanding lies ion chemistry region, accurate densities cannot yet be produced, though major advances area determining relative composition through mass-spectrometer techniques. These measurements shown that is amount complexity detail not present much simpler E F regions, mysterious features behavior electron-density are probably closely related chemistry, which therefore must understood great possible.
