摘要: Purpose While technology is a major driver of many society's comforts, conveniences, and advances, it has been responsible, in significant way, for engineering regular physical activity number other positive health behaviors out people's daily lives. A key question concerns how to harness information communication technologies (ICT) bring about changes the promotion field. One such approach involves community-engaged "citizen science," which local residents leverage potential ICT foster data-driven consensus-building mobilization efforts that advance at individual, social, built environment, policy levels. Method The history citizen science research arena briefly described an evidence-based method embeds multi-level, multi-sectoral community-based participatory framework presented. Results Several examples this science-driven community engagement promoting active lifestyles, called "Our Voice", are discussed, including pilot projects from diverse communities U.S. as well internationally. Conclusions opportunities challenges involved leveraging activities part broader population explored. strategic scientists socio-demographically across globe both assessment change agents provides promising, potentially low-cost scalable strategy creating more active, healthful, equitable neighborhoods worldwide.
