摘要: Abstract Archaeological potsherds have become a valuable source of information about diet and the wider economies ancient communities, especially through analysis lipids preserved in microporous matrix ceramic vessels. This study investigated > 160 recovered from settlement phase 19 dated to 5160–5100 cal. BC Neolithic site Bylany, one largest Linearbandkeramik (LBK) Central Europe. The aim was investigate vessel use animal management at explore variations organic residue composition thus human activity household level. Pottery technology also studied revealing predominance micro- mesopores, indicating an advanced level pottery production technology. > 70% analysed yielded appreciable amounts dominated by C 16:0 18:0 fatty acids, with compound-specific carbon isotope compositions origins predominantly ruminant non-ruminant fats. Detection very long alcohols traces terpene compounds originating plants suggested combination meat- plant-based components specialised some However, evidence vessels for milk collection or processing not detectable least during herein.
