Factors behind healthy snack consumption at school among high-school students: a qualitative study.

摘要: The prevalence of consuming fast foods and non-nutritious snacks is progressively increasing among adolescents. This study aimed to explore factors behind snack consumption at school Iranian high-school students. descriptive qualitative was conducted in 2017 four boys’ girls’ high-schools located Isfahan, Khorramabad, Tehran, Iran. Data were collected through 42 in-depth semi-structured interviews focus groups with male female students, their parents, teachers administrators. conventional content analysis approach used for data analysis. Trustworthiness applied the prolonged engagement, maximum variation sampling, member checking techniques. Factors students’ came into two main groups, namely influential behaviors, emotions perceptions. Influential behaviors included family members, peers, administrators, sellers. Moreover, perceptions positive negative feelings towards healthy snacks, fear over consequences unhealthy perceived outcomes snacks. Students’ affected not only by own emotions, perceptions, but also significant others’ environmental factors. School administrators need make modifications turn environment a pleasant place pleasurable experience
