摘要: To date, there have been no studies that explicitly examined the effect of awareness on consumption food from a Universal Eating Monitor (UEM - hidden balance interfaced to computer which covertly records eating behaviour). We tested whether UEM affected pasta lunch and cookie snack. 39 female participants were randomly assigned either an aware or unaware condition. After being informed presence (aware) not told about its (unaware), consumed ad-libitum followed by Awareness did significantly affect amount cookies eaten. However, reduced rate consumption. These results suggest monitored has meal, but does influence snack in absence hunger. Hence, energy dense foods after meal may be more susceptible monitoring than staple items.
