摘要: Infected thrombus in an abdominal aortic aneurysm represents a potential source of subsequent graft sepsis. Previous reports have documented 10 to 15 percent incidence positive results culture the contents and recommended prolonged postoperative organism-specific antibiotic therapy when is encountered. In our study, we cultured intraluminal during elective repair 64 patients with aneurysms found bacterial growth 9 (14 all patients). Eight nine received no other than routine prophylaxis regimen, evidence either early or late prosthetic sepsis occurred (mean follow-up 25 months). We conclude that result may not imply clinical infection at time operation does appear necessary patient asymptomatic overt operation.
