摘要: The feeding habits of the neotropical river otter Lontra longicaudis were studied in a headwater stream Atlantic Forest, south-eastern Brazil, for 17 months. otters fed mainly on fish (93% scats), but invertebrates also frequent items diet (78.9% as observed same species lentic habitats and other well. It is suggested that high proportion comparison to Lutra related differences dentition two genera. seasonal variation L. was probably result fluctuations abundance main prey item, megalopteran larva (Corydalus sp.). Prey selection, regarded between rates predation relative food items, demonstrated most important groups prey: crustaceans. Although they are able capture mobile prey, seem prefer showing lower escape ability – among select armoured catfish, crustaceans crabs.
