摘要: Background: Intra-articular injections of hyaluronans have been shown to be safe and effective for the treatment pain associated with osteoarthritis knee. This pilot study was undertaken gather preliminary data on efficacy safety five weekly intra-articular Hyalgan (sodium hyaluronate; molecular weight, 500 730 kDa) as compared saline solution ankle. Methods : Twenty patients at two test sites were randomized use a double-blind (blinded observer), solution-controlled, parallel experimental design. Patients receive either 1 mL sodium hyaluronate (10 mg/mL) or phosphate-buffered into ankle joint. The primary outcome measurement score. Several secondary measures also assessed. Results: Significant improvement in mean score from baseline seen all follow-up visits one six months both group (p 30 mm this score, eight control group. No withdrawals directly attributable solution, no severe medication-related adverse events observed. Conclusions: present suggests that (molecular are well tolerated, can provide sustained relief pain, improve function ankle. These findings consistent those previously published studies involving other joints, but they require confirmation large, randomized, solution-controlled study. Level Evidence: Therapeutic Level I.
