摘要: SUMMARY Cerebral slices cut from rat brain, either 2–3 mm or 0·27 thick, were used to study the effect of embedding and freezing. Paraffin wax sections 6 μm thick mounted stained with haematoxylin eosin Marsland et al.'s (1954) silver stain, their areas examined at each step. Embedding in paraffin Epon caused a diminution by 20–30%. Staining did not alter areas. Glycerol alone 15% concentration had no on areas, but 30% they diminished approximately 20%. Diminution glycerol treated also occurred when transferred liquid N2 isopentane, increased after was replaced Freon 12. It concluded that freezing cerebral changes staining been embedded, sectioned not.
