摘要: Lolium multiflorum Lam., a winter annual grass species originating from the Mediterranean region, has become widespread in native grasslands of flooding pampa (Argentina). The dynamics dormancy release L. seeds simulated natural conditions was studied. Dormancy overcome by exposing imbibed to mild cool temperatures (15°C or below) for brief periods (pre-chilling). After-ripening progressively released dormancy, at higher rate that remained under canopy (30/20°C) than those were dry-stored (20°C). Germination promoted red light only when after-ripening requirement partially fulfilled after pre-chilling treatment. These results provide useful knowledge designing grazing strategies aimed obtaining well-developed ryegrass high forage quality during and spring.
