摘要: To enhance the limited information available about palaeo-ecological significance of calcareous dinoflagellates, we have studied their lateral distribution in surface sediments equatorial and south Atlantic between 13°N 36°S. Calcareous dinoflagellate cysts appear to be widely distributed throughout area. In sediments, concentrations (cyst per gram dry sediment) vegetative stage Thoracosphaera heimii are generally higher than that (presumably) resting cysts. Distribution patterns Orthopithonella granifera (Futterer) Keupp Versteegh, Rhabdothorax spp. Kamptner., Sphaerodinella albatrosiana (Kamptner) Versteegh S. praratabulated, tuberosa var. 1 2 ratios these species been compared with temperature, salinity, density stratification gradients upper water column. is characteristically present more temperate regions characterized by high seasonality.
