摘要: Despite recent improvements in surgical and radiation therapy, failures still occur patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas, which may have a very different clinical outcome even when their histopathological characteristics are similar. The apparent inadequacy of "traditional" prognostic factors predicting the evolution carcinomas has led to attempts develop additional markers capable distinguishing good prognosis from those who more likely relapse. A number studies demonstrated relationship between tumourigenesis alterations expression cyclins, cyclin-dependent kinases kinase inhibitors, but data regarding somewhat conflicting. Herein review is made published literature concerning clinico-prognostic role cyclin D1, D3 p27, personal described carcinoma underwent resection at ENT Department University Milan. results our multivariate analyses that p27 overexpression statistically significant predictors disease-free survival (p = 0.0238, p 0.0001 0.0217, respectively); statistical correlation overall was case 0.0009) 0.0189), borderline D1 0.0622). In relation D1/p27 coexpression, D1-/p27+ phenotype showed best prognosis, D1/p27+ or D1-/p27- phenotype, an intermediate D1+/p27- poorest for trend survival; 0.0015 0.0008 survival). D1/cyclin D1+/cyclin D3+ tumours had survival, D3+or D3- course, /cyclin most favourable 0.0002). findings this indicate both types D involved genesis immunohistochemical evaluations biopsy samples provide useful identifying subgroups poor can be treated by means aggressive surgery, adjuvant radiotherapy chemotherapy, as well requiring closer prolonged follow-up. Finally, preliminary suggest administration new molecular therapies exert antitumoural activities functionally subverting pathways regulated D-type cyclins counterparts represent further therapeutic modality refractory head neck [corrected]
