摘要: Error! Not a valid link. BACKGROUND: Cardiac disease caused by transfusional iron overload remains the principal cause of death in patients with β- thalassemia major, despite improvements chelation therapy during past 25 years. For this reason, regular evaluation cardiac function is recommended for all major and now an integral part their management. monitoring should, therefore, ideally identify at highest risk decompensation before heart failure develops. Sequential reproducible quantification ventricular principle can early changes left ejection fraction from baseline each patient could be used as rationale identifying high risk.
