摘要: Cerebellar neurons are generated from two germinal neuroepithelia: the ventricular zone (VZ) and rhombic lip. Signaling mechanisms that maintain proliferative capacity of VZ resident progenitors remain elusive. We reveal Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling is active in cerebellar essential to radial glial cell proliferation expansion GABAergic interneurons. demonstrate cerebellum not source Shh signals early VZ, suggest a transventricular path for ligand delivery. In agreement, we detected presence protein circulating embryonic cerebrospinal fluid. This study identifies as an signal zone, underscoring potential contribution pathogenesis diseases associated with deregulated signaling, reveals regulating neural development.
