摘要: Image-guided, single voxel, localized proton magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy was performed to assess the brain metabolite changes in 10 (n = 10) alcoholic patients frontal lobe, cerebellum, and thalamus regions. The spectra obtained were characterized by a reduced N-acetyl-aspartate (NAA) choline (Cho) (p < .01) NAA total creatine (Cr + PCr) ratios relative age-matched 27) controls. These decreased correspond depleted concentration of levels such as Cho. Reduction is consistent with neuronal loss while reduction Cho suggests significant membrane lipids alcoholics.
