摘要: The pollination biology of Hosta sieboldiana and H. sieboldii is investigated comparatively in Central Japan. Both species have homogamous, one-day flowers pollinated by bumblebees. abdomens the bees touch stigma on extended style when they land anthers inside herkogamous flower, autogamy effectively prevented. However, are fairly self-compatible, geitonogamy may occur rather frequently because two or more a scape very often bloom at same time many ramets contiguous. pollen/ovule ratios suggest that these facultative outbreeders. flower seems completely suited to bumblebee pollination. In whose strongly protrudes, not always touched bumblebees, but frequent visitation bumblebees results almost all flowers. similar systems seem reproductively isolated blooming times habitats. Their common pollinators, however, sometimes cause introgressive hybridization contiguous populations.
