摘要: Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) are a novel class of eutectics which show unique potential as solubilizer water insoluble compounds. The purpose the current study was to evaluate NADES solvent for hydrophobic photosensitizer curcumin use in antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT). Two seventeen initially prepared (i.e., GS and MC3) solubilized >0.05mg/ml were further characterized. hydrolytic stability t1/2) comparable or up 2-10 times higher than previously reported results cyclodextrins >1300 buffer at pH8. photolytic increased by factor 5.6-10 compared most photostable cyclodextrin surfactant preparations previously. This seemed lock its colorless diketo conformer, resulting photostability ethanol MC3. curcumin-NADES dissolved rapidly aqueous media formed supersaturated solutions curcumin. Precipitation observed after ≤1h depending on dilution (pH<8). MC3 containing photoinactivated Escherichia coli lower concentration (1.25μM) any investigated ability within one specific molecular conformation also potentiate phototoxic effect this emphasizes properties solvent.
