Constructing great powers: China’s status in a socially constructed plurality

摘要: As a rising power, increasing attention is focused on what China does the world stage. The growing number of books and articles China’s rise, whether it sustainable, model for other developing states, most importantly likely to change current international order, highlights level interest in this phenomenon. This article suggests that focusing alone not enough; instead essential view rise exemplifying relationship between great powers’ status, shaping roles responsibilities powers. It argues when seen as part construction powers are also constructs within order; result, ‘great power’ exist apart from order into. perspective broadens range possible questions can be asked relation (and powers).
