摘要: The metabolic effectiveness of choline lactate in the growth media was investigated relative to conventional carbon source for growing Staphylococcus lentus, a bacterial strain commonly used bioremediation industrial effluents and xenobiotic detoxification. Bacterial thermodynamics determined by biocalorimetry. 13C NMR FTIR spectroscopic analyses traced consumption at specific time intervals growth. Under aerobic conditions, it is apparent that S. lentus initially metabolized its energy needs, while cation ionic salt seemed provide C N biosynthetic intermediates cell structure/function, colony. Urea accumulation after 40 h recorded. Possible trajectory consumed during suggested here. theoretical estimation heats reaction proposed pathway (455 kJ/mol) comparable with experimentally obtained enthalpy (435 kJ/mol), which further validated pathway. biomass profile bacteria found be more favorable than glucose media. liquid, lactate, offers metabolically energetically efficient (and nitrogen) lentus.
