摘要: Abstract In the present study, mechanical alloying (MA) was used to deposit well-bonded TiC coatings on D2 steel substrates from titanium and carbon powders. The effect of milling duration ball-to-powder mass ratio (BPMR), as well substrate hardening has been investigated. Microstructure coated samples studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Chemical composition analyzed energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Transmission (TEM) provided evidence for existence nanocrystalline coating. Microhardness test carried out examine properties coatings. coating adhesion strength evaluated scratch test. It shown that a dense uniform with strong bonding could be formed at optimal condition (35 h duration, BPMR 50:1 hardened substrate). addition, possible mechanism proposed formation during alloying.
