Dermopigmentation of the nipple-areola complex in a dedicated breast cancer centre, following the Treviso Hospital (Italy) LILT model

摘要: BACKGROUND Dermopigmentation, also known as medical tattooing, is a complementary technique in the reconstruction of nipple-areola and an adjuvant procedure to improve colour mismatch. In 2009, tattooing complex (NAC) was introduced by Treviso Hospital through project conducted cooperation with local section Italian Anti-Cancer League (LILT). METHODS From 2010 2016, 169 patients treated for breast cancer underwent dermopigmentation treatments. Patients were selected hospital plastic surgeons. Dermopigmentation performed at LILT (Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori, Cancer League) facility following specific ensure safety. A sterile disposable surgical set used. RESULTS Of 309 treatment sessions, no serious complications reported after only three cases seen minor complications. expressed high level satisfaction (90%) aesthetic results. CONCLUSION The study found that NAC safe approach, providing benefits both itself. Medical simple nonsurgical reduces missed workdays increases time available other commitments. This ultimately translates into savings society healthcare system.
