摘要: The pattern, presentation, and volume of facial injury in the west Ireland are subjectively different from that United Kingdom. We know no prospective regional study to date, nationally there is system place collect data on injury. epidemiology trauma has important implications for development health services, education training clinicians, workforce planning, prevention injury, promotion health. Over one week we did a multicentre collection involving all emergency departments Ireland. All patients who attended with injuries were included, those solely scalp neck excluded. proforma recorded patients' characteristics, details treatment follow-up. It also included relation sport, alcohol, assault, animals. During period 325 injured (5% attendances at region). mean was 29.8%, 68% male. Falls caused 39% injuries, sport 27%, assault 14%. Sixteen percent treated oral maxillofacial surgery departments, 16% plastics, ear, nose throat (ENT) combined. There 166 serious injuries. busiest 24h Saturday 09:00.
