摘要: Mitochondrial ferritin (FtMt) is a novel type specifically targeted to mitochondria. It highly expressed in the human testis and sideroblasts from patients with sideroblastic anemia, but other organs have not been studied. To study its expression main of mouse, we first used RT-PCR then produced recombinant mouse FtMt specific antibodies. Immunohistochemistry analyses confirmed that testis, particularly spermatocytes interstitial Leydig cells. The protein was also identified including heart, brain, spinal cord, kidney, pancreatic islet Langerhans liver splenocytes, which iron storage function express high levels cytosolic ferritins. Results indicate primary involved storing cellular or body iron, association cell types characterized by metabolic activity oxygen consumption suggests role protecting mitochondria iron-dependent oxidative damage.
